What is EMDR?
Watch this video to learn more.
EMDR therapy can help you get there.
You can find rest. You can start to believe you're enough, that you always have been. Even when you make mistakes, even when you let go of perfectionism.
EMDR works differently than talk therapy. It's a gentle, proven method that gets to the root of what's keeping you stuck. The childhood wounds, the negative beliefs, the anxiety that won't quiet down. It helps those things soften. The coping skills you've already learned become easier to use. The thoughts that tell you you're not enough start to lose their grip. And over time, you settle into yourself in a way that actually feels like peace.
All those negative thoughts you have about yourself? EMDR will melt those and flip them into positive ones.
The childhood trauma where you got these tendencies in the first place? EMDR can soften and heal those wounds.
The feelings of being stuck in anxiety, turmoil, depression, negative beliefs? EMDR is going to help free you.
What EMDR Sessions Look Like
1.
Our initial session is all about discovery and chatting about what you have been through, and where you want relief. We figure out the root of what’s going on and a path forward for healing.
2.
We build and strengthen calming skills that will help you feel strong, safe, and supported throughout your healing and outside of sessions.
3.
We keep building on grounding skills if we need to, and if not, we start EMDR on an area, memory, or event that you’re bothered by. We will use tapping on your arms or legs, eye movement, or sound.
4.
We continue working on that specific area, memory, or event until you are at a very low level of distress and feel more at peace. Oftentimes this is where negative beliefs about you have flipped! Yess!
